My name is Tim Parsons, and I’m an ordained minister with over 15 years of experience marrying couples who are ready to take the step of marriage. My weddings are simple, meaningful and focused on you.
I also offer SYMBIS, a Christian-based premarital assessment that helps you and your spouse understand one another better and get your marriage off on the right foot.

Elopement / micro-wedding · $100
For the couple who wants something simple: a phone meeting to go over details and the contract, unlimited emails, calls and texts, and a 30-minute ceremony with welcome, vows (your own are welcome), prayer, ring exchange and pronouncement. I’ll also complete and sign your marriage license.

Premarital assessment
What is SYMBIS?
SYMBIS stands for Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts. It’s an evidence-based assessment built around your specific relationship, designed for newly engaged couples and couples in their first two years of marriage. It works for those who are remarrying too, with extra material to help you transition into your new marriage in a healthy way.
Each of you takes a 30-minute online assessment about yourself and your relationship. From your answers, you receive a 16-page report that gives insight and guidance for your premarital journey.
Marriage licenses
How do we get married?
You can’t be legally married without a marriage license. All you need is a signed license and a simple “I do.” Everything else is up to you! I’m a wedding officiant, so I don’t issue licenses; your county clerk does. Here are the most common questions.
How do we apply?
Everyone applies online, using a computer (a phone doesn’t work). It’s fastest to apply before you go, though the clerk’s office has computers you can use. Indiana has one marriage license application for the whole state: apply here.
Where do we pick it up?
A marriage license is a legal document, so you both must appear in person; it isn’t mailed. If you live in different Indiana counties, you can go to either county clerk, and you’ll need to prove your address in that county. If you aren’t Indiana residents, apply in the county where you’re getting married. You can’t get your license in one county and then marry in another Indiana county.
What does it cost?
Each county sets its own hours and prices. A basic license is typically $25 for Indiana residents and $65 for out-of-state residents, and your county may charge extra for copies. Please contact your county clerk to confirm current details.
What do we need to bring?
Proof of identity: a valid driver’s license, state ID, passport or birth certificate. All ID must be in English (or a notarized translation). You’ll also need proof of address, such as a driver’s license, lease or utility bill; if you both have valid driver’s licenses and one shows the address you applied with, that’s all you need.
The clerk will ask for the last four digits of your Social Security number to find your application, but you don’t need the card. If you don’t have a Social Security number, that’s OK; you can still get married.
How long is it good for?
An Indiana marriage license is good for 60 days. If you don’t get married within that time, you’ll need to apply and pay again.
